TSMC is committed to comprehensive health management and improving the quality of care for employees' physical and mental health. In addition to conducting advanced employee health check-ups for early detection, the Company also organized a diversity and inclusion campaign to enhance employees' sense of psychological security. In addition, TSMC provides resources for employees with different psychological status and needs through the "Three-stage Prevention and Care Model" to support them with challenges in life and work, benefiting an average of more than 1,000 person-times per year. To enhance employee experiences with mental healthcare, in 2023, the Company integrated workplace well-being in the Employee Engagement Survey. In the second quarter of 2024, the Company further improved the Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) by increasing the number of counseling vendors from two to five, and offered greater reservation flexibility by providing nighttime and holiday slots. Through increasing the varieties of psychological services, the Company aims to enhance employees' physical and mental well-being and create a friendly workplace.

Planning and Providing Caring Resource to Employees by Different Needs and to Foster Psychological Resilience

TSMC values the physical and mental health of its employees. In the primary care, TSMC offers diverse educational seminars, courses, and workshops on various topics, as well as a series of health education activities in line with World Mental Health Day on October 10th, to help employees strengthen their mental resilience and stress management skills. In the secondary care, the Company provides each employee with five hours of free counseling and consultation from external consultants in psychology, law, finance, etc. each year. In addition, TSMC utilizes annual health check questionnaires to understand seif-awareness and perceived stress of employees, and psychologists provide care to those who report higher levels of stress, to identify needs early and give appropriate support resources to support employees through difficult times. In tertiary care, mindful of employees’ personal wishes and protecting their privacy, the assistance team offers integrated care resources in counseling, medical, life, and work aspects, offering in-depth care and supporting employees to gradually return to a stable state, enhance psychological resilience, and eventually return to the workplace and continue performing to their strengths.

Talent is TSMC’s most important asset. By creating a supportive work environment that covers both physical and mental health, the Company assists employees in maintaining their well-being. At the same time, the Company continuously improves the "Three-stage Prevention and Care Model" with action plans at each level. In the third quarter of 2024, TSMC plans to introduce an interactive counseling appointment management system, allowing employees to manage counseling and access diverse service information in real-time. In addition, the Company will continue to offer lectures and courses and World Mental Health Day activities to foster a friendly environment that promotes work-life balance and supporting career development of employees.
