TSMC regards employees as its most important asset, actively prevents occupational disease, and creates a friendly workplace with Comprehensive Health Management. In order to strengthen the physical and mental care of employees, TSMC Taiwan cooperated with 11 medical institutions to launch the "Employee Advanced Health Check-up Project" to provide six advanced examinations for the prevention of cancer, cerebral and cardiovascular-related diseases. The examinations exceed Taiwan’s regulatory requirements, and help employees recover and return to work earlier through more proactive detection of abnormalities to get proper treatment through systematic tracking and fitness for work evaluations. As of June 2023, a total of 73,114 people have completed examinations, safeguarding employees’ wellness.

Six New Advanced Health Check Items to Enhance Employee Healthcare

Cancer as well as cerebral and cardiovascular diseases have a significant impact on our health. Precision imaging examinations help to detect lesions early for a better understanding of health status. In addition to implementing health checks in line with laws and regulations, TSMC Taiwan has provided six advanced check items beginning in the second quarter of 2021, including stool occult blood, mammogram, chest CT scan, ECG, cardiac/carotid echo, and cardiac CT for calcium scoring according to the statistics of major injuries and causes of death of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Individual Tracking and Care to Support Employees’ Smooth Treatment and Recovery

In order to facilitate employees’ appointments and examinations, TSMC has cooperated with 11 medical institutions in Taiwan, inviting employees to participate in health examinations to conduct individual tracking and care for those with abnormal results. These include consultation with Health Service Physicians, medical treatment and fitness for work evaluations, etc., to help employees receive proper treatment and return to normal life and work as soon as possible. TSMC will continue to provide a supportive environment and strengthen health management actions to enable employees to receive better care and maintain physical and mental health.
