Talent is TSMC’s important asset. In response to global expansion and a more diverse talent pool, TSMC updated its "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement" in 2024 to enable employees to excel in suitable positions and promote mutual learning. The company launched a series of activities under the theme "Bringing New DEI Statement to Live!" focusing on three main pillars: "Leadership Endorsement, Awareness Enhancement, and Action Encouragement" to raise employees’ DEI awareness and self-fulfillment. TSMC also promotes the DEI culture within its supply chain. In September, the company held its first DEI workshop with over 200 suppliers to share practical experiences. In December, it launched the first online interactive DEI course titled, "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion" aiming to drive support for a DEI-friendly workplace environment among employees and the supply chain from the inside out, creating a better society for all.

TSMC is committed to fostering an inclusive culture where every employee feels valued and empowered to contribute to the mission and provide excellent service to customers.

Integrating ERG Resources and Incentives to Encourage DEI Practice

TSMC is dedicated to realizing its People Vision and deepening employees' understanding of DEI. In response to the updated DEI statement, TSMC launched the "From Statement to Action - DEI/ERG" workshop in collaboration with three Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), sharing DEI promotion goals, missions, challenges and achievements in implementation. The workshop achieved a 95% satisfaction rate among participants. To motivate employees to continue DEI actions, TSMC integrates its existing ESG Points and DEI Champion incentive mechanisms. During the event period, employees can earn corresponding points, accumulate reward levels, and redeem gifts, thereby advancing as key promoters of DEI and embodying the values of a diverse workplace.

Collaborating with Partners to Drive DEI Supply Chain Development

In light of the increasing global emphasis on addressing human rights issues, TSMC is extending its DEI implementation experience to its supply chain. The Company aims to have all tier one suppliers establish DEI policies or statements as a long-term goal and actively assists suppliers in obtaining diverse business certification. As of December 2024, four suppliers have received women-owned business certifications. Additionally, TSMC, in collaboration with Merck Taiwan and Applied Materials Taiwan, held the first supplier DEI workshop to share insights on human rights management, DEI issues, and ERG initiatives. The forum achieved a satisfaction rate of 99.3%, continuing to build a sustainable supply chain aligns with the spirit of DEI.

This workshop was highly valuable, revealing that 'diversity' encompasses far more than I knew and that 'equity' is about providing appropriate resources based on others’ needs. Thank you, TSMC, for leading suppliers in promoting DEI. It was truly rewarding.
