Developing talent is a key part of TSMC's five ESG directions, and the Company has been holding the "DNA Summer Internship Program” to help the semiconductor industry cultivate talent and attract more outstanding students. With the three main pillars of "Self-Development, Navigating the Future, and Pre-Employment," the program offers diverse learning and growth opportunities for university juniors and above. Entering its sixth year in 2024, the program has recruited a total of 813 interns, continuing to set new records, and over the past six years, 3,100 interns joined and successfully completed the DNA internship. In response to TSMC's global expansion strategy, this year's program added two new activities: the "Cross-cultural Exchange Competition" and the "Taiwan Cultural Experience." These activities encourage both domestic and international interns to collaborate, gain a deeper understanding of TSMC, Taiwanese culture, and promote diversity, inclusion, and self-actualization.
Cross-cultural Exchange Experience: Unleashing Diverse Potential
In line with TSMC's global talent deployment and development, the DNA program is bilingual. In 2024, among the 813 interns, 154 are from overseas, including 70 foreign nationals—a nearly twofold increase from 2023—hailing from ten different countries. To accelerate the integration and learning of foreign interns, this year’s program introduced the Cross-Cultural Exchange Competition. Interns of different nationalities are mixed into teams and collaborate to create presentations that share their perspectives and observations on TSMC. Additionally, through engaging activities such as writing Lunar New Year couplets, playing traditional games like diabolo, and tasting various local foods, international interns can get closer to Taiwanese customs and culture, promoting cross-cultural integration.

Thank you to TSMC for organizing difference activities and virtual courses, which allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the semiconductor industry and Taiwan's corporate culture. The supervisors and senior colleagues really took good care of me, alleviating my anxiety about not being able to speak Chinese.
TSMC's internship program has given me many valuable experiences. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to work on cross-departmental projects and meet many outstanding talents from different countries.
During the internship, I gained a deeper understanding of TSMC's culture and work environment and discovered infinite possibilities for future development. In addition, the many lectures and exchange activities not only broadened my horizons but also increased my understanding of TSMC and my own value.
Adhering to the principle of nurturing more outstanding talent, TSMC will continue to invest resources and plans to expand the recruitment numbers and geographical scope of the "DNA Summer Internship Program." This initiative aims to help more students bridge academic knowledge and industry applications, injecting new momentum into the future development of global tech industry talent.
