With the ESG vision of "Uplifting Society" as its guiding principle, TSMC actively supports employees in contributing innovative ideas and recognizing the ESG progress of internal organizations aligned with TSMC’s five ESG directions through the TSMC ESG AWARD to foster positive changes in society. To inspire employees to explore opportunities for improvement and incorporate sustainable actions into their daily routines, the fourth TSMC ESG AWARD not only introduced the "ESG ENTHUSIASTIC PROMOTION AWARD," but launched two warm-up programs: "ESG 21+" and "My ESG Pledge" before the opening of the registration period. These activities aimed to motivate employees to contribute toward making positive impacts. This year, the preliminary selection of proposals was presented on both physical and online platforms for the first time. To foster engagement and promote diverse perspectives, TSMC has implemented an interactive, virtual capsule-toy game that enabled employees to explore a wide range of proposal concepts. A total of 621,126 person-times, submitting up to 3,166 proposals, reaching a year-on-year increase of 68% and continuing to drive a culture of sustainable innovation.

Fostering a Sustainable Culture Through Community Building and Educational Training

The TSMC ESG AWARD, grounded in TSMC’s five ESG directions, aims to encourage organizations to integrate these principles into their daily operations. This year, in addition to inviting past winners of the ESG EMPOWERMENT and ENGAGEMENT awards to share their practices and facilitate internal discussions among experts and colleagues on sustainability issues, TSMC created a sustainable ESG community, encouraging experts and colleagues to participate in internal discussions on pertinent sustainability issues. By disseminating sustainability-related information and activities, TSMC aims to strengthen the promotion of a sustainable culture within each organization. Furthermore, TSMC includes an educational training program for the 57 organizations' ESG representatives involved in the judging panel. This program facilitates discussion of evaluation focus and case analysis, allowing professionals from diverse functions to evaluate potential proposals and collectively expand their positive influence.

TSMC is firmly committed to effecting positive changes. For the winning proposals of previous ESG AMAZING IDEAS AWARDS, a total of 29 proposals have been completed, and 18 proposals are currently being implemented through the TSMC ESG Committee to conduct cross-departmental communication, integrate resources, and track implementation progress quarterly.
