TSMC Launches Inaugural "Sustainability in Action" Publication, Creating a New ESG Communication Experience

To address stakeholders' diverse needs for sustainability information, TSMC uses its Sustainability Report as the primary platform for presenting annual ESG achievements and management practices, while building a wide range of communication channels to enhance information accessibility. In addition to offering a "Report Builder" that helps readers download chapters based on topics of interest, the Company adopted Generative AI technology in 2026 to develop an "AI Search" feature to retrieve information more efficiently. At the same time, TSMC initiated a redesign of its Sustainability Report Highlights, renaming the publication Sustainability in Action—a storytelling-driven format designed to resonate with readers. The Company also released an animated highlights video to help readers quickly grasp annual performance highlights, demonstrating its commitment to transparent disclosure and shared value with stakeholders. 

Unlike previous Sustainability Report Highlights that relied primarily on data and charts, Sustainability in Action adopts an everyday perspective to reframe and reorganize TSMC's material topics, weaving together annual sustainability achievements and compiling 12 annual milestones. By transforming information disclosures into compelling stories of real-world practice, the publication guides readers through how TSMC puts sustainability into action across operations management, employee well-being, supply chain collaboration, environmental stewardship, and social engagement, deepening understanding of the Company's sustainability values.

The highlights video echoes the Sustainability Report's design theme, "Crystalline Light, Sustainability in Sight," drawing on the artistic beauty of wafer imagery and light flowing through glass to symbolize TSMC's journey with global partners. The video transforms a wide variety of sustainability metrics and data into dynamic visuals, vividly illustrating how TSMC leverages technology to enable smart manufacturing and carries out energy conservation, carbon reduction, and water recycling management. It also showcases key progress across dimensions including inclusive workplaces, responsible supply chains, and social engagement. In just 140 seconds, the video bridges the gap between viewers and the Sustainability Report, conveying TSMC's determination to collaborate with global partners in building a better future.

Beyond the creative communication showcased through Sustainability in Action and the highlights video, TSMC is dedicated to using digital tools to lower the barriers to navigating its comprehensive report. In 2026, the Company introduced the "AI Search" feature for the first time, which organizes detailed disclosure information from the Sustainability Report into intuitive, conversational responses. Readers simply click the "Try Now" button on the Latest Sustainability Information page of the Sustainability website to begin an interactive dialogue about the TSMC 2025 Sustainability Report. This innovative application is in line with the principles of "Human-Centric Approach, Transparency and Clear Boundaries" outlined in TSMC's Responsible Artificial Intelligence Policy, enhancing information accessibility and usability while providing the public with a responsible and trustworthy AI-powered sustainability information service.

The 2025 Sustainability in Action and highlights video are now available online.
