The TSMC Charity Foundation has been deeply committed to addressing social needs through frontline volunteer services, creating a support system based on three main strategies: empowering education, caring for the elderly, and protecting the environment. Dedicated to the core spirit of "Leaving No One Behind," the TSMC volunteer club was established in 2004 and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2024. This year, 29 fabs and 17,501 volunteers contributed 91,787 service hours. For the first time, TSMC extended its efforts internationally by collaborating with its Japanese subsidiary, Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing, Inc. (JASM), to enhance health promotion in Kumamoto's aging communities and encourage suppliers to join TSMC’s volunteer activities. To express gratitude for the volunteers' contributions and mutual learning, the TSMC Charity Foundation hosted the "20 Years with You, Walking with Love" volunteer conference on December 19, 2024, inviting volunteers to share their experiences and work together towards societal well-being.
Volunteering is about frontline engagement, experiencing the impact of connecting with others, and rekindling our original intentions. With love and sharing, we continue to journey further.
While encouraging TSMC employees to engage in volunteer service, we also emphasize innovation by modularizing and replicating successful philanthropic initiatives, thereby continuously amplifying our impact.
66 Monthly Volunteer Activities: Advancing Elderly Care Internationally
The TSMC Charity Foundation, in cooperation with various fabs, actively contributes to society through practical actions. In 2024, volunteers conducted an average of 66 activities each month. The annual volunteer conference recognizes participating units with awards, including the Mileage of Love Award for long-term service, the Innovative Model Award for developing new services, and the New Star Award for those joining the volunteer ranks for the first time that year. Additionally, the Foundation's volunteer efforts have extended overseas, promoting an aging community care model in Kumamoto, Japan. On December 15, 2024, for the first time, the Foundation and public welfare partner Laurel Corporation visited Kikuyo Town, where JASM is located, to share glutinous rice balls with local elders and nearly 500 stationed colleagues. They also shared Taiwanese Winter Solstice dietary customs and health knowledge, fostering community development through international exchange.

They have developed AI science experiment lesson plans that allow even volunteers without a background in science and engineering to quickly learn and get involved. These volunteers can accompany students through hands-on experiments, helping them understand scientific principles and enhancing their interest in learning.
- Storytelling Volunteer
Through engaging storytelling, they aim to cultivate basic knowledge and scientific literacy among students in rural areas. By inspiring their thinking and demonstrating practical applications in daily life, this approach enhances their learning and reading abilities. Ultimately, it creates opportunities for these students to transform their futures through education.

Through volunteer service, we deeply understand that, while helping others, we also achieve personal growth. I believe that a group of kind-hearted people can lead everyone to go further.
Serving as a volunteer has expanded my capacity for tolerance and my ability to see things from different perspectives. Returning to my original intentions, the happiness, joy, and beautiful memories I have experienced are priceless.
