Sound environmental protection, safety and health management is a cornerstone for the sustainable operation of enterprises. Guided by the standards of its Environmental Policy and Safety and Health Policy, TSMC strives to be environmentally friendly and promote a culture of safety. The Company launched its first environmental protection, safety and health (ESH) month activity in 2024, holding a series of themed forums, lunchtime lectures, and an ESH achievement presentation and promotional poster tour at TSMC’s Hsinchu, Taichung and Tainan sites for four weeks starting in November. In addition to raising colleagues' attention to ESH issues, the forum also invited a wide range of stakeholders such as government agencies, experts, scholars, suppliers and contractor partners to participate in the event, for a total of more than 3,300 participations in the overall event, deepening the practice of environmental protection, safety and health.

Diversifying the Theme and Format, Expanding the Horizons of ESH

To help colleagues and partners understand trends in ESH management and their importance to TSMC's operations, the first ESH month featured four major forums, covering per- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) prevention and control technology, safety/health and safety culture/safety moment excellence execution fab award ceremony, natural carbon credits and biodiversity, contractor ESH management, and other topics; At the same time, lunchtime lectures on three life-oriented themes of avian conservation, sedentary pain and home disaster prevention were held to help colleagues strengthen their daily environmental protection and safety awareness, and the overall satisfaction rate of the seminar reached 98.6%. In addition, TSMC also held a presentation on ESH achievements to share technical knowledge and achievements, and displayed unique promotional posters to enhance colleagues' understanding and awareness of ESH culture.
