Embedding ICIC Core Values, TSMC Builds a Shared Culture Across the Globe
As TSMC expands globally, its corporate culture is guided by its core values of Integrity, Commitment, Innovation, and Customer trust (ICIC) on both the organizational and individual levels. The Company collaborates with overseas subsidiaries to design localized strategies and workshops each year, transforming abstract values into everyday behaviors. In terms of employee experience, ICIC is integrated throughout the career lifecycle from recruitment to development to unite diverse global talent and strengthen TSMC's sustainable cultural resilience.

As TSMC expands its global presence, the Company is working to build a shared understanding of its corporate core values of Integrity, Commitment, Innovation, and Customer trust (ICIC) among employees from diverse cultural backgrounds. In 2026, TSMC established the TSMC Corporate Culture Strategy, guided by ICIC and built around two complementary approaches: the A.B.C.C. Framework, and practices throughout the employee lifecycle. The Culture Team traveled to different regions and worked closely with TSMC Arizona Corporation, TSMC North America, TSMC Europe B.V, and TSMC Japan Limited to develop annual culture strategies tailored to each location, making ICIC a common language across borders. In October, TSMC is also launching its internal Culture Hub website, creating a one-stop resource for employees around the world to learn about the Company's culture, build a stronger sense of connection, and develop the resilience needed for sustainable operations.
When a company expands into the U.S., Japan, and Europe, each place has its own culture. They're not all the same. But there's one important principle: TSMC's core values, ICIC, must be consistent everywhere. Our values must never change.
To put its global business strategy into practice, TSMC follows the A.B.C.C. Framework, starting with cultural Awareness. In 2026, TSMC held nine "Culture Workshops: Our Culture, Our Way!" across TSMC Arizona Corporation, TSMC North America, TSMC Europe B.V, and TSMC Japan Limited. At these workshops, the Culture Team worked with local management teams to develop annual culture strategies and action plans, translating abstract core values into concrete behavior in everyday work. TSMC also cultivates Culture Champions within each organization to serve as training facilitators and drive local culture initiatives. Through these efforts, TSMC ultimately expands coverage across its global operations, making ICIC part of employees' everyday work around the world.
After receiving the deck from headquarters, having the chance to meet with the Culture Team in person really helped me better understand our core values and how to apply them in my work.
TSMC also brings ICIC into each employee's journey with the Company, using Gallup's Employee Experience model to connect the core values with key stages of the employee lifecycle, from attraction and recruitment to onboarding, engagement, and development. Cultural initiatives are introduced at each stage to make ICIC a meaningful part of the employee experience. In October 2026, TSMC is also launching the internal Culture Hub website, a one-stop platform for culture resources that helps employees worldwide build a shared understanding of TSMC's culture. Through this digital experience, TSMC aims to pass on its culture heritage and encourage employees to put what they know about ICIC into their daily work.
TSMC is committed to making ICIC a common language for employees worldwide and translating the core values into everyday behaviors at work. The HR team will continue to strengthen collaboration with overseas fabs and subsidiaries, following the A.B.C.C. Framework to expand the roadmap for putting ICIC into practice globally. In October 2026, TSMC is also planning to launch the TSMC Core Values Survey, using direct employee feedback to refine future initiatives and cultivate a stronger culture for sustainable operations together.
