Overview

To narrow the gap between education and employment, the TSMC Charity Foundation collaborated with the Hsinchu County and City Governments, Kuang-Fu High School, and Minth University of Science and Technology to promote the "Technical and Vocational Talent Empowerment Program." Through a dual strategy of empowering teachers while enhancing students' practical skills, the initiative strengthened the guidance capabilities of junior high school teachers. The program also reinforced vocational high school students' career confidence through hands-on experiences and alumni mentorship. Looking ahead, the Foundation will continue to integrate resources to help students achieve adaptive development while developing sustainable talent for the industry.

The TSMC Charity Foundation has long been dedicated to educational empowerment, inspiring the potential of young people through diverse initiatives such as the "Road to Employment" program, job fairs, and career exploration. To strengthen technical education and narrow the gap between education and employment, the Foundation brought together industry, government, and academic resources in 2025. Collaborating with the Hsinchu County and City Governments, as well as the Automotive Department of Kuang-Fu High School and the Minth University of Science and Technology, they co-hosted the "Technical and Vocational Talent Empowerment Program." The initiative adopted a dual strategy of "empowering teachers to provide adaptive guidance" and "enhancing students' readiness to bridge education and employment." By analyzing industry trends and career prospects, the camp strengthened junior high school teachers' career guidance capabilities. It also helped vocational high school students align with industry demands through hands-on experiences and alumni mentorship. Building on this successful collaborative foundation, in May 2026 the TSMC Charity Foundation further supported Kuang-Fu High School in hosting the "Sailing Ahead with Vocational Education, Building Dreams at Guang-Fu: A Junior High School Career Exploration Experience Across Vocational Fields.” This event guided junior high school students to envision their future career paths while further strengthening technical and vocational education.

Synergizing Industry-Academia Strengths to Power a New Engine for Education

Building a foundation for technical education relies heavily on the guidance of frontline educators. The "Technical and Vocational Talent Empowerment Program" invited 27 junior high school teachers from Hsinchu City to visit vocational education sites. The first stop was Kuang-Fu High School, where presenters introduced the comprehensive training plan of the Automotive Department and invited a Lexus executive—an alumnus of Kuang-Fu High School—to share industry dynamics and hiring trends, demonstrating through personal experience how vocational education benefits long-term career growth. The next stop was Minth University of Science and Technology, where teachers gained insight into the core curriculum of the Department of Intelligent Vehicles and Energy, while a Mazda executive introduced their model for industry-academia collaboration to demonstrate a blueprint for immediate employment upon graduation. Through this in-depth exchange, the program helped junior high school teachers bring the latest industry insights back to their campuses, guiding students toward adaptive development while strengthening the foundation of technical and vocational talent from the very beginning.

Integrating Hands-on Practice and Mentorship to Build Career Readiness

In addition to empowering teachers, the program arranged for 98 students from Kuang-Fu High School's Automotive Department to visit Minth University of Science and Technology. The students toured the smart vehicle simulation display area and vehicle training factories, engaging in hands-on operations involving automotive maintenance, electric vehicles, and new energy equipment under the guidance of professional Mazda technicians. In addition, an alumnus currently working at Porsche were invited to share his personal growth journey and practical insights from the campus to the workplace, helping students clarify their learning goals and better understand the industrial landscape. Through this dual approach of "hands-on experience" and "senior mentorship," the camp not only upgraded the students' technical skillsets but also helped them recognize their professional value, fostering strong confidence and pride in technical and vocational education.

The "Technical and Vocational Talent Empowerment Program" Integrates Resources and Builds Talent Development Pathways

We are not just looking for employees, but partners who can move forward with us. Technical education helps us discover future talents who possess both the skills and the passion.

Continuing to develop the Talent Empowerment Program will yield far-reaching impacts. I look forward to expanding our scope of collaboration through a robust mechanism, enabling more vocational students to refine their expertise and unlock broader development opportunities.

Staying true to its original intention of professional empowerment and bridging education with employment, the TSMC Charity Foundation will continue to invest heavily in technical and vocational empowerment. In the third quarter of 2026, the Foundation plans to expand the integration of local resources to provide junior high school students with career exploration opportunities. By opening up diverse pathways, the Foundation aims to support youth growth and add momentum to the industry's sustainability.
