TSMC is committed to strengthening the resilience of sustainable operations in its supply chain. According to the Supplier Healthiness Assessment Rectification Program (S.H.A.R.P.), TSMC regularly audits and provides guidance at supplier sites, tracks improvement progress, and has developed online interactive course materials based on common audit findings and optimization measures. In addition, the TSMC Supplier Sustainability Academy, provides shared learning opportunities to suppliers and the general public. In response to climate change and emerging technology trends, and to drive the advancement of environmental, safety, and health (ESH) technical management within the supply chain, TSMC held its first ESH technical forum in 2024, focusing on three main themes: safety and health, fire safety and emergency response, and facility and carbon management. The forum Incorporated topics such as heat hazard prevention, lithium battery safety, and carbon capture technology into its lesson curriculum. By bringing together experts from industry, government, and academia to share their experiences, TSMC comprehensively enhances suppliers' environmental, health, and safety capabilities, as well as their ability to prevent and mitigate losses. A total of 199 participants from 175 tier one suppliers, covering sectors such as gases, chemicals, wafers, components, and parts cleaning, attended the forum. According to feedback from 183 post-event surveys, the overall satisfaction rate among suppliers reached 98.9%, continuing to advance the process of sustainable development.

Exchanging Environmental, Safety, and Health Management Technologies to Promote Diverse Understanding

TSMC deepens supply chain ESH self-management through four major steps: standards and system establishment, audit and violations tracking, consultation and training, and supplier follow-up consultation. In this forum, in addition to collaborating with experts from industry, government, and academia for specialized lectures, suppliers with unique environmental, safety, and health management techniques are also invited to share their practices. These include the selection of protective equipment for handling powdered toxic substances, the establishment of a one-stop construction safety management system, and technologies for hydrogen production and carbon recovery. In addition to fostering broad understanding among other suppliers in the field of ESH management, and inspiring more innovative thinking, TSMC also shares its own carbon reduction strategies for major emission contributors. By analyzing real-world cases of the circular economy, TSMC assists suppliers in developing a variety of carbon reduction initiatives, enhancing their green environmental, safety, and health management capabilities.

Thank you to TSMC for organizing the Supply Chain ESH Technology Forum. Through the courses on facility and carbon management, we gained insights into relevant technical experiences and carbon reduction issues, which will help us drive carbon management in our company. We have benefited greatly from this experience.
