Bringing the Industrial Development Bureau to Explore Energy-saving Opportunities in the Supply Chain and Expand the Energy-saving Effect
TSMC continues to promote the sustainable development of environmental protection, safety and hygiene in the supply chain through a cycle of "establishing standards and systems, verification, counseling and training, and re-counseling by suppliers", while working with the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs to promote an energy-saving and carbon-reduction counseling program. The 18 suppliers participating in the project have discovered a total of 37 projects with potential energy-saving benefits from the counseling. It is estimated that the total electricity savings are about 13 million kWh and the carbon reduction is 6,600 metric tons per year.
TSMC's Sustainable Management of the Supply Chain on Environment Safety and Health
TSMC aims to implement a responsible supply chain. In addition to the Supplier Environment, Safety and Health Forum, it is expected to hold a "Greenhouse Gas Inventory Workshop" in the second quarter of 2022, and plans to produce an online course titled "Corporate Greenhouse Gas Inventory," and "Common Defects in ESH, Fire Protection and Improvement Actions," that will be available for all suppliers to learn and apply through the Supply Online 360 "TSMC Supplier Sustainability Academy" to deepen the practice of supply chain sustainability, in order to achieve the 2050 net zero emission goal.
