Striving to be a company that employees can be proud of, TSMC is committed to providing competitive compensation, benefits that exceed legal requirements, and a safe and healthy work environment. In response to the continuous growth and diversification of its workforce, and to enhance support for employees' lives and family care, TSMC launched the “TSMC Global Flexible Benefit Plan (abbreviated as tFlex)” in 2024, building on its existing benefits system. This plan is divided into four main categories: medical and insurance, family care, wellness, and development and volunteering. The plan offers each full-time employee worldwide flexible benefit points equivalent to US$250 (for employees in Taiwan, it's equivalent to NT$8,000) per year. Employees can independently choose and redeem benefits that align with their lifestyle. As of early November, 81,828 tFlex applications have been received, amounting to approximately NT$4.7 billion. Over half of these applications are related to family care, followed by medical and insurance, reflecting an enhanced and diverse employee benefit experience.
Adjusting to Local Conditions to Meet Diverse Needs
High-quality work and benefits are crucial for attracting and retaining talent. TSMC considers the development and needs of employees at different stages of their careers, while also encouraging them to participate in community service activities to give back to society. After comprehensive evaluation, TSMC established the tFlex program with four major categories, which are flexibly adjusted according to the regulations, currencies, and cultural differences of domestic and international locations to meet local needs. To understand the effectiveness of the tFlex program and enhance future management, TSMC conducted an analysis of 80,000 applications. The results showed that 54% were related to family care, with travel-related applications and children's education and care being the top two categories, accounting for 34% and 16%, respectively. Additionally, recognizing that pets have become important family members in modern society, TSMC has included pet care in its benefits for the first time, with related expenses accounting for approximately 1.5% of applications.

TSMC is actively creating a supportive environment to enhance employees' work-life quality. Through tFlex, the company encourages employees to choose benefit plans that meet their individual needs and continues to evaluate the expansion of coverage. For example, from an ESG perspective, TSMC is considering whether to include environmental protection, such as green transportation, within the scope of application.
