Introducing Multiple Training Platforms for Technicians to Enhance TSMC's Core Value of Integrity

Integrity is TSMC's most important core value and corporate culture. In order to ensure all employees to implement integrity in their daily work, TSMC has introduced the business conduct and ethics training program to every new employee, and has scheduled annual on-job training on ethics and regulatory compliance for all the employees. Under the management by Corporate & Compliance Legal Division, those training programs are designed to continuously and deeply implement TSMC corporate culture of integrity in employees' work. The completion ratio of ethics training by managers, professional staff, and assistants has topped 95% for three consecutive years. In 2019, the Company's Legal Organization further strengthened the ethics education and training programs on multiple training platforms for technicians, and the completion ratio of those trainings has reached 99.71%.

Multiple Training Platforms to Enhance Technician's Integrity and Ethics Awareness

In the past two years, TSMC has put more focuses on the ethics education and training for the technicians to increase ethical awareness among them. Considering the work style of those technicians, which (day and night shift), the ethics training are provided on multiple platforms via employee communication meeting, and production notes, a unique internal communication channel for manufacturing Fabs. In 2019, TSMC has officially introduced the annual mandatory program to the technicians, which makes it more convenient for the technicians to access to the training platforms and to track their completion records.

Customized Training Material Helps Technicians to Understand TSMC Ethics Codes

The eLearning material for technicians includes TSMC's core value of integrity. The Company has customized the training contents based on technician's daily work. For example, some technicians may have to access to other's personal information at work, which makes it is a must for them to understand the related laws and regulations and to comply. At the same time, TSMC has simplified the training course and help them memorize the training content and understand the essence of TSMC Ethics Codes more effectively through quizzes with scenarios.

Integrity is the basic principle that TSMC always follows when conducting its business. In addition to extending TSMC ethics training to its , TSMC has also conducts the first questionnaire survey among subsidiary employees this year to understand the training effectiveness and optimize training contents based on employees' feedback.
