TSMC Sports Day Funds Allocated to First Crossover Program to Support Local Baseball Teams
TSMC values the development of diverse talents and competence cultivation. Since TSMC's 2020 Sports Day was canceled due to the pandemic, TSMC decided to allocate NT$20 million to kick off the "TSMC Little Baseball Hero Support Program", which is TSMC's first crossover collaboration with the Taiwan Aboriginal Baseball Development Association (TABDA) and the Taiwan Basegarden Baseball Development Association (TBBDA). The program aims to support little baseball players to establish education foundation, build up self-confidence, and give full play to their potential.
TSMC endeavors to cultivate professional talents of diverse competencies by allocating resources to help kids build up self-confidence and encourage them to fearlessly pursue their dreams. Meanwhile, we hope that TSMC employees can accompany the children to see the wider world.
This crossover collaboration is based upon TSMC's longstanding belief in supporting right people to develop their expertise. Our endeavor is also to invest in a better future for Taiwan.
TSMC X TABDA Support Coaches and Players to Develop Second Skills
The "TSMC Little Baseball Hero Support Program" begins with a focus on enhancing the soft power of baseball players and coaches. It supports TABDA, led by CPBL player Lin Chih-Sheng, to offer competence training to baseball coaches. Coaches who directly coach kids on the team receive training on sports nutrition, injury prevention, sports science and applications. At the same time, through the development of players' second skills, the program provides junior high school baseball team members in Hualien and Taitung with career planning and vocational competence training.
I appreciate TSMC for this opportunity to jointly support the development of baseball in remote areas. I hope that this program can cultivate more outstanding baseball coaches and players, and further contribute to the comprehensive development of baseball in aboriginal townships.
TSMC X TBBDA Establish Education Foundation for Little Baseball Players Through Reading
Meanwhile, TSMC supports TBBDA, which is founded by CPBL player Steven Chou, to expand its current service area in Hualien. The collaboration establishes "Baseball Reading Classrooms" for baseball teams in junior high schools and elementary schools in Hsinchu and Taichung where TSMC's plants are located. In addition, the "Baseball Scholarship" will be presented by CPBL stars to encourage little baseball players to read and establish education foundation, paving the way for their career development.
I appreciate TSMC for recognizing the importance of education and reading to children and supporting kids who love baseball with us. I hope that this program can show kids that there's a much bigger world out there in addition to baseball.
TSMC Softball Team Proactively Takes Part in Mentoring Little Baseball Players in the Pursuit of Their Dreams
TSMC has signed an MOU with the two associations on the Little Baseball Hero Support Program in December of 2020. In addition to pouring funds to support the two non-profit organizations to expand the scope of beneficiaries and business, TSMC Vice President T.S. Chang, a baseball enthusiast, leads members of the Softball Team of TSMC's Fab 12B and TSMC's Softball Club to visit schools in Hsinchu. They share their knowledge of baseball and professional league with kids and help them with schoolwork and life coaching. Starting from the Datong Elementary School in Zhudong Township of the Hsinchu County, TSMC will continue to accompany little baseball players in the pursuit of their dreams.
